Zakat calculator
Add what you own and what you owe. The calculator checks the nisab and shows the exact Zakat due — 2.5% of your net zakatable wealth.

How this calculator works
The tool follows the standard Hanafi method used by most Zakat calculators:
- Add zakatable assets: cash, bank balances, recoverable receivables, business stock, and the market value of gold and silver.
- Subtract immediate debts from the total.
- Compare with nisab: 612.36 g of silver or 87.48 g of gold, valued at the prices you enter.
- If net wealth ≥ nisab, Zakat is 2.5% of net wealth. If it is below nisab, no Zakat is due for that year.
What counts and what does not
- Counts: cash and bank balances, gold and silver (jewellery included in the Hanafi school), trade stock, money lent that you expect back.
- Usually excluded: the house you live in, personal car, furniture, tools of trade, and unpaid long-term liabilities not yet due.
- Gold price: use the current market rate per gram for the purity you own. If you only know the 24K rate, adjust for 21K or 22K purity.

Questions people ask
Should I use the gold or silver nisab?
The silver nisab is lower, so it is the safer choice when silver is cheap relative to gold — it ensures the poor receive Zakat from more people. Many Hanafi scholars recommend it. Use the gold nisab only if you follow that position.
Do I pay Zakat on gold jewellery I wear?
In the Hanafi school, yes — gold and silver in any form, including jewellery, are zakatable. Other schools differ on jewellery in regular use; follow your school and scholar.
Can I deduct my monthly bills?
Only debts that are due now are normally deducted. Future rent, utility bills not yet due, or long-term loan instalments are generally handled as they become payable.
